The below statement was released by the Maryland campaign for a Working Class Party.
The signature campaign to put Working Class Party back on the ballot for the 2026 election in Maryland was a success. Around 30 petition circulators collected over 12,300 signatures. We went to grocery stores, Walmarts, parades, festivals and farmers' markets. Twenty-five people agreed to be founding members of WCP. The state of Maryland does not make it easy for third parties to get on the ballot. Nevertheless, it shows what a small group of determined people can accomplish. It is also worth noting that the idea of workers having their own political party resonates with many people.
