Working Class Party candidates in Illinois, Ed Hershey and Jordan Villas, spoke at an August picnic to the situation confronting workers today and what the working class can do about it.

This spring, more than 2800 people signed to put Jordan Villas on the ballot as the Working Class Party candidate in the 12^th Illinois State Senate District.

Since 1856, 170 years ago, only two parties have run the country. No matter which party was in power – Democrat or Republican – they worked to enrich the capitalist class at the expense of working people. For 170 years, both parties took the country to war, after campaigning on the promise to keep the country out of war. Exploitation of the workers, enormous profit for the bosses, wars on other people – this is the long record of both parties. 

This spring, volunteers gathered over 2,800 signatures to put Jordan Villas on the ballot for Working Class Party in the 12^th Illinois State Senate District – about double the number of signatures required by law.
