Some people watching the cops kill George Floyd yelled, “Get up off him.” And he said himself, “I can’t breathe.”

Media outlets will depict a version of the murders at the hands of the police and of the protests that erupted with opinions of a few powerful individuals who run the networks.

Even while the Coronavirus unfolds daily across our lives, many officials are focused on reopening state economies and trying to get things back to normal. But what’s their normal?

We have officially gained ballot status in Maryland. A few dozen volunteers went to markets, parades, Motor Vehicle Administration offices, and stood on street corners. Together we collected over 14,000 signatures, more than the 10,000 the state requires.

As the COVID-19 virus spread across this country, it is the working class which is bearing the brunt of this virus. Working people are paying the cost for a government that was unprepared to deal with this crisis despite the warnings it received; paying the cost for corporations who are more concerned about profit than our health.
